Want to Participate?

If you are a fellow animal lover, rescue and/or artist we need you.   Here’s how you can help….

What I am proposing to do is ask if you are an artist take a face that has motivated you to take action for your cause and create a piece of artwork of it. I is to be in the form of ACEO, Art Card (2.5” x 3.5”) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Artist_trading_cards . Either limited edition  prints or originals are fine.  Please put your contact info. the card. It also needs to have a 501 (c) rescue you wish to promote. The artwork is to be on one side and the rescue info will be on the other. I also ask you add http://www.saveaface.wordpress.com on the card so this project will continue to build and promote all involved. The ACEO or Artist Trading Cards often collected, traded and passed around. They are like a mini piece of art/ business card the size of a standard playing card.  They often sell well on e-bay, are easy to ship and easy to duplicate so you can sell larger numbers of them.  If you need the nuts and bolts info on materials to use please go to the link on this page ‘How to make an ACEO’.   The idea is to make something colorful, collectable and memorable so people buy, trade and show these cards as a way to promote the rescues.

If you are a rescue or a cause please send me your information, along with contact info. and web sites, links etc. and a clear digital photo of a face that is meaningful to your cause to be shared with an artist who wants to create artwork of your animal’s face.  There would be room on the back of the card for a some info. on the rescue.

I will post this Save A Face web site along with a link to your web site with each completed card. People are encouraged to give and help.

The ACEOs or Art Trading Cards are to be auctioned off on e-bay with 75% percentage going to the rescue. (Must be a registered not-for profit rescue to take part). E-bay makes this easy by sending the money collected directly to the charity. This way I am not involved in handling anyone else’s money. The 25% left over will cover e-bay costs and shipping. As the rescue or artist please link to the e-bay site and the web site.  As more cards are completed we can make up sets, collections.

If you are an animal lover than your job is to help spread the word aabout this project or share photos of an animal’s face that has inpacted you.  When the art goes on e-bay helping share links will be much appreciated or bidding on the cards.  The artwork is small and affordable so should be within people’s reach with the added bonus of encouraging them to buy more to collect and also to promote.

Hi Sue ~~ What a great idea. I already use my art work to help rescues so I would love to participate in this project. I have a couple of questions, though. Do we send the cards to you? If so, where? Is there a deadline? Is the Ebay auction ongoing? Thanks! Susan

Susan, Oh would love to have you participate! Yes, the e-bay listings will be ongoing while I have things to offer. I think I’ve got things figured out so the listing charges don’t hinder things. I am offering the donated artwork by other artists with a 90- 100% donation for the rescues. The listing fees should be very low then. If thats the case I can just keep the auctions ongoing.

I am asking for the art to be sent to me. You can send it to my studio at White Horse Studio 324 Cleveland Ave. NW, Canton, Ohio 44702. If you have a rescue you want the money to go to and they are listed on e-bays Giving Works I will designate them as the reciever of the money. I also can add your web site to the e-bay listing so send a card along too. Thank you!
