New E-commerce Web site

November 24, 2010 Leave a comment

I am opening up a new web site to hopefully take this project to the next level. I want to thank all of your for your support and interest in this endeavor. It has been encouraging and I have had the pleasure of getting to know some awesome people!

I am inviting you to my as of yet unfinished but getting there web site at (Don’t let the name fool you- dogs and cats will be incorporated very soon!) What I need from you is participation! You can add comments, photos, and submit stories and articles to me. I will be spotlighting certain rescues and having special auctions for special needs that they may have. One of the purposes of this new site is to eliminate eBay fees if possible and also to make the book keeping easier on my end. I am separating the money so it does not filter thru me. That was what was nice about eBay- I liked having the Giving Works program and may still utilize that but for now I will be directing money toward the rescues and then of course offering artwork for sale. Just know that supporting one helps the other and keeps this project going.

Regrouping in Order to do this Better!

I love to paint!  I love my rescue animals.  And I have discovered I love painting animals to help rescues!  I also know you love your rescue animals!  You feel passionate about saving animals.  And I also am pleased and honored to know you have enjoyed my artwork of the dogs, cats and horses!   I see a need for this kind of thing to grow and continue.

After several months of selling art on eBay and a few other outlets Save A Face was able to raise over $1,150.00 for various animal related rescues and therapies.  I realized that in order to do this right I really need to run it not as a hobby but as a business so it can sustain itself.  That way I can continue to paint what I like to paint.  People can enjoy collecting the art, the rescues can get some much needed money and this whole thing can keep moving forward.

So what I am doing is regrouping.  I am in the midst of streamlining some things in order to be more efficient and I am organizing this worthy endeavor in such a way that it can be self sustaining and have a greater reach.  So I am asking for you to bare with me while I do some nuts and bolts work behind the scenes.  My hope is to have this better situated with a well put together web site not long after the first of the year.

In the meantime I have put some artwork up on Etsy at  The fees are less and the price is set, unlike on eBay but this is original art- one of a kind stuff here and 20% will go to the rescue of your choice.

I am excited to show you what I have in store for you but for now I need to just get it all in place.

I’ve Been in Mixed Media Kind of Mood!

September 21, 2010 Leave a comment

I had fun going back to watercolor and pastels this past week.  One thing that is good for an artist’s heart is to be able to mix things up!  That and for me at least being able to be with my family and animals.  The weather is beautiful and I am savoring this last bit of nice weahter before you- know – what.

Here’s some new art going up for bidding.

I am SO Appreciative!

The last several months I have had the pleasure of seeing not only progress in the health and physical condition of my rescue horses but also am seeing major improvements in their emotional well being.  I can see they feel good and are happy.  The other thing these horses have done for me is bring some really wonderful people into my life.  I have made friends thru social media which has led to being able to make new friends in person as well!  I have horse friends again!  :)  I have seen the horses bring a sparkle to some very special  ‘at risk’ kids eyes.  I have met a wonderful local horse trainer who is kind and knowledgeable and good with the horses.  I have friends across the country and even over seas who are helping promote Save A Face.  People are bidding on the artwork.  I am getting donations from other artists.  This is all so very touching!  We have passed the 500.00 mark for donations collected from eBay sales.  I know the rescues and therapy programs appreciate what all of you are doing.  Amazing how what might on the surface appear to be only about the animals is really good for the people too!  This makes me happy because I am not one of those animal rescue people who don’t ‘like’ people.  I would probably be rescuing people (babies and kids for sure!!!) if it wasn’t so much more complicated!  I like to think though now that in a way this people rescuing is happening too starting with me.

My daughter left for college and it is a very exciting, happy time but so bittersweet too.  I have braced for this time hoping I would handle the transition well.  I knew my daughter would do wonderful!  :)  So I appreciate how  this project has brought a new focus and people to my life.

I wanted to share some photos of the horses taken today.
